This is a collection of MS Excel workbooks I've created over the years which serve specific needs in offset and digital printing workflows. Most are based on the x-rite eXact with it's scanning base. This is a hardware option for the eXact which not a lot of people have, but handy if you do. Others may require an iSis Wide. All can be modified as needed. Email me for links or other interests.
This workbook uses a either the IDEAllainace G7 Verifier strip or the included custom strip for the eXact Scan via DataMeasure v1.3.2. to evaluate for G7Master: Grayscale metrics. Supports bluetooth connection to the eXact Scan.
This one grew out of the G7 Verifier workbook but uses a custom Mini-P2P to plot the spider graphs for the primaries and overprints. Measured with the eXact scan via DataMeasure v1.3.2, the workbook evaluates for G7 Master: Targeted metrics. Supports bluetooth connection to the eXact Scan.
These workbooks go beyond one-time color for further evaluation of repeatability, consistency over short and long term reruns and macro stability or M Scores for sheet consistency..
This workbook requires an iSis for color and and iSis Wide for M-Scores and returns a handsome report of all color metrics needed for the IDEAlliance G7 Digital Press Certification process, a badge offered only at the Manufacturers level. It evaluates for Colormetric Accuracy, Run Uniformity, Repeatability and Macro Uniformity or M-Score. It also adds visualizations for the M-Score deviations.
This is a breakout from the Digital Press Workbook which gives even greater visual/numeric assessments of the stability of a press from both inboard and outboard/lead and trailing edge measurements. It compares and displays deviations from 800 points on the press sheet for detailed heatmaps of variations in dE, dL, da*, db* and dCh. Very fast measurements when used with the eXact Scan. Multiple sheets may also be compared for full measurements of PR belts or cylinders.
These workbooks are for calculating SCTV for ECG workflows and for calculating the Metamerism Index of any ink/paper combination.
The first step in any ECG workflow is to bring the press into G7 compliance for CMYK and to use SCTV curves for the additional colorants. Lots of ways to get G7 curves for CMYK, this is a tool to calculate SCTV for the OGV used in most ECG workflows.
This workbook is setup to ingest CGATS data of the IDEAlliance SCTVi6 ECG color ramps measured with an i1 or i1IO spectro and returns curve data for each colorant plus black.
This workbook provides feedback on how colors shift under different lighting conditions. Measure the control strip 3 times using a Baseline (D50) and two other lighting conditions (examples are D65, F11) and the workbook calculates the Metamerism Index for each patch using the DIN 6172 formulas. Helpful for answering the question of which inks/subst exhibit the most or least metamerism and which colors are affected most and least. Red indicates a high index from the baseline, green the lowest.

Only public domain charts and control strips are used except where otherwise mentioned and permission is given to use any custom strips from colorkyle.com. Each workbook may contain credits to others for some formulas used in the math.
